Mrs. Maxon began her career in education as a substitute teacher for Live Oak Elementary School in 1988. She continued teaching at Live Oak Elementary School for 12 years before moving to Castaic Middle School when it opened.  She then returned to Live Oak Elementary School as the new principal, where she remained for five years until she accepted the position of Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services and moved to the district office. This position allowed Mrs. Maxon to use her years of experience and knowledge to impact all of the schools in the District.  After 12 years of working as assistant superintendent and a total of 32 years of service with the Castaic Union School District, Mrs. Maxon retired in June 2020.  Mrs. Maxon enjoys spending her free time with her family and singing in her church choir.
