Learning Continuity Plan The Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan (Learning Continuity Plan) is a key part of the overall budget package for K-12 that seeks to address funding stability for schools while providing information at the local educational agency (LEA) level for how student learning continuity will be addressed during the COVID-19 crisis in the 2020–21 school year. The provisions for the plan were approved by the Governor and Legislature in June in SB 98 and can be found in EC Section 43509.
CUSD and School Day Cafe Continue to Provide Meals We are pleased to announce that Castaic Union School District in partnership with School Day Cafe will continue to provide pre-packaged breakfast and lunch together at each school site Monday-Friday (except Holidays) from 10:30am to 12:30pm.
Fall 2020 School Reopening Update At the July 16 Governing Board meeting the Board adopted a modified 2020 Fall Action Plan for the start of school that temporarily calls for online learning. The Governing Board acted to authorize the following:1. Classes will begin on August 11, 2020, in an online format.2. CUSD will continue to comply with LA County Health Order requirements as a means to keep students, staff, and families safe and to minimize the transmission of the COVID-19 virus.3. Bring students back to campus as quickly as it is deemed safe to do so.4. Staff will report to work as assigned for the start of the school year.We have been preparing for this possibility and will be ready to start the school year in a 100% distance learning model. Distance learning will include regular schedules for students with live instruction, regular grading, and attendance. Schools will also evaluate learning loss and provide extra support when necessary. We will continue to provide specific details over the next several weeks.
