Dr. Torres has resided in Castaic since 2001 and currently has two children in the district. He was first elected in 2009 and re-elected in 2013 to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Castaic Union School. Dr. Torres currently works as an elementary school principal. He is a retired Oakland police officer and a veteran of the United States Marines Corps. He has been a member of the Santa Clarita School Boards Trustee Association since 2009 and served as Director-at-Large in 2012. In addition, he currently serves as the Region 22 Director of the California School Boards Association, representing North Los Angeles County. Dr. Torres has been actively involved in various community organizations such as Junior Achievement. He has also served on the executive board for both the PTA and Castaic/Val Verde AYSO. He has an MBA in Finance from Golden Gate University; a Masters and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from CSU Northridge.
